EU launches Renewable Energy Education Project in Asia

The DGS and European and Asian partners started the European Commission funded project “Promotion of the Efficient Use of Renewable Energies in Developing Countries” in January 2007.
The ReePro project is motivated by the fact that poor households in Asia often lack decent access to basic energy services. The project shall lead to the provision of energy services to those currently un-served or under-served by higher quality energy services.
The basis of ReePro is the introduction of local communities to renewable energy and energy efficiency technology by an extensive training programme. The training programme targets stakeholders with different educational backgrounds vary from energy experts (1) over technician (2) to normal community stakeholders (3).
IIn a first step a 2 week intensive training program for 20 energy experts from Laos and Cambodia will be performed in January 7th to 18th 2007 in Laos and Cambodia. The ReePro project team looks for ambitious persons, interested in becoming renewable energy experts and joining the ReePro project. Energy experts from Laos and Cambodia are invited to apply to participate in the 2 week training programme. Please find more details in the attached leaflet and call document.
The project leaflet with more information on the whole project can be found HERE (PDF)
Potential candidates from Laos or Cambodia which are interested in receiving the free training can find the form to register HERE (PDF)
